In 2007 I traveled to Scotland with my husband. He was born in England and was obsessed with his ancestry. For my birthday he took me to Scotland to see the ground where my family began.
We arrived in Kilfinnan and asked the innkeepers about the family castle. Not only did they give us a map; the woman on duty loaned me her wellies so I would be able to cross the streams and bogs to get to the McEwen site.
After the first mile my husband had to turn back. He could not cross the stream. I spent over three hours climbing fences and searching to find the monument. I will never forget the goosebumps; chills of that experience.
I lost all my photos of that day in a house fire but now I can go online and see it again.

On our 2019 travels, it was independent travel, a custom tour and a group tour. All work beautifully... just depends on where you’re going and what you want.
The Mekong River… Vietnam and Cambodia as we barged along this mighty river that traverses much of Southeast Asia.
Galicia and nearby provinces are less traveled. Drive to discover castles and Paradores, little pleasures and ancient wonders.
