In 2007 I traveled to Scotland with my husband. He was born in England and was obsessed with his ancestry. For my birthday he took me to Scotland to see the ground where my family began.
We arrived in Kilfinnan and asked the innkeepers about the family castle. Not only did they give us a map; the woman on duty loaned me her wellies so I would be able to cross the streams and bogs to get to the McEwen site.
After the first mile my husband had to turn back. He could not cross the stream. I spent over three hours climbing fences and searching to find the monument. I will never forget the goosebumps; chills of that experience.
I lost all my photos of that day in a house fire but now I can go online and see it again.
We feel we are ambassadors when we travel, perhaps we can be ambassadors in cyberspace too and show you the joys of travel. We hope EVERYONE finds inspiration here. We believe that travel promotes understanding and understanding promotes peace.
