Looking for McCunes that moved from PA and NY to East Texas in 1830's I think.
Nice to hear from another member of the clan...
Here's a story that was posted over on Clan McEwen Stories.... McCune in American
I really need to move some of those over to this page... the ones that are about finding other McEwans. Don't know if this will help you, but it's worth contacting them. She included her e-mail address. (To anyone who reads this, see our note on that below)
James McCune came to America with his two brothers. He is known in Texas as "James the Pioneer" as, in Texas, he received 10 Land Grants from the Spanish Government before Texas was even part of Mexico. Each land grant was for a league of land (4,200 acres).
Forty McCune families still live on McCune land in East Texas. I have set up a Face Book page for the "James McCune Family". I would love to hear from all of my blood (as we say in Texas).
My EM is Bush.Cecilia@GMail.com. A Note from Judy and MarkWe post all of the questions that come in about MacEwens (by any spelling), but we just wanted to remind you, or anyone who reads this.... we don't have any way of getting in touch with you.
We don't store e-mail addresses... so there are a couple of things you can do.
1) If you want us to have your e-mail address, you can use the "Contact Us" page and send us your e-mail address. No one else will see it that way, but then we can put your e-mail address on our list and put you in touch with them... if THEY send us THEIR address.
You may have opted to be notified if there are any comments on this submission. If so, you'll know if anyone responds. If you didn't check that box, you can check back periodically on your own to see if someone has responded. Remember, once again, the only way you will be able to contact them, though, is if they list their e-mail address here.
It's always fun to get submissions and comments from Clan "cousins". We get a kick out of seeing how many people find us for the Castle MacEwen too.
Hope there will be some comments, so you get to find other MacEwens!
Happy Travels, Judy and Mark
